The apostle Paul said in the book of Romans, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for salvation." The message of the Bible is that there is power available from God to break the destructive force of sin in our lives. Our goal at The Light is to have everyone experience this life changing power, which can save a soul from death, bring healing to the hurting and broken hearted, restore failed marriages, and give hope to those who are discouraged. It is a light in the darkness. It gives vision and direction when we seem to have lost our way. This power comes from knowing and receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. We are broken people living in a broken world and God never intended us to go through life alone. Just as your biological family can help and support you, you need a spiritual family as well, to encourage you in your spiritual journey. That is our desire here at The Light, to reach individuals, families, and our community. We can only fulfill the great commandment (loving God) and the great commission (reaching the lost) when we receive the power of a great savior. We hope you will join us in bringing The Light to the world.

Here at The Light, we use LIGHT as an acronym to help us remember the mission God has called us to as a church:

L – Loving God and loving man Mark 12:30-31

I – Investing our time talents and treasure Matt. 6:21

G - Go to those who are lost and hurting Luke 10:30-37

H - Honoring one another Phil. 2:3-4

T - Teaching each other in order to be equipped for God's service Matt. 28:19-20

Our statement of faith

• We believe that there is one eternal God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the virgin birth, the death, resurrection and imminent return of Jesus Christ, and the work and person of the Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the personal necessity of every person to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (salvation through faith).
• We believe in the present work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church, including the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the gifts and fruit of the Spirit.
• We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative, and infallible Word of God, both for faith and practice.
• We believe in a commitment to regular fellowship in a local church in order to draw strength from the body of Christ as well as to support and encourage others.
• We believe in a program of personal Bible study and prayer, drawing from God's Word (the Holy Bible) as the supreme authority for life.
• We believe that self-worth is experienced by recognizing who we are in Christ. We believe in the development of responsibility and Christ-like behavior based upon scriptural principles.
• We believe that the central purpose of mankind is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
• We believe in the priesthood of every believer and the responsibility that follows from this belief.
• We believe in and practice baptism by full immersion as a public testimony of salvation.
• We believe that we are accountable to God and to one another for our growth and development as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that we should regularly evaluate ourselves and seek an accountability partner with whom to meet regularly.
